Cauldron Zone updated

Here's the next version of the previous painting I posted =)

Cauldron Zone

A painting for my 4th year film! This is really more concept art than anything else, I'm using it to develop a sense for what the environments will be like, what the feel of the foundry will be and what kind of colors and moods to have. FUN FUN FUN!
More to come later =D This is my first time painting from imagination =) Hope you like it!
Time to get back to animating the 3rd year film =)

Beginning animation for 3rd year film

Hey everyone =D Here's some roughed out animation for the group film project I'm working on at Sheridan right now. In this scene, Goatie and Sven have just woken up from a daydream to watch Sven's father collapse on the table from too much drinking. More to come later =)

Remo's Factory

As promised, here's the followup to the previous post =)

Work in Progress

Now that I'm becoming comfortable with the beginning stages of a painting, particularly blocking in paintings with color to the point where they become visually legible, it's time to move in and start taking those hazy images and refining them and seeing how far I can take them to the next step. Here is a work in progress, you can observe my method as I continue to post works in progress so you can see it from a fairly unfinished piece to something more finalized. The choice of the industrial image is pretty important as my senior film will be taking place in a steel mill, so expect to see many more industrial paintings as I familiarize myself with the environments appropriate for my film. Hope you enjoy! =D

Speedpainting

These two paintings were based off two National Geographic Photo of the Day images. The characters in the second are based off two of my favorite childhood cartoon characters, raichu and gazimon. Sometimes it's important to remember what got you started drawing in the first place =)

Effects animation: Fire

Today in DQ's class we were discussing fire and effective ways to animate it as well as details to be aware of, so to get some hands on with his concepts I made this little doodle =)
