Character in Progress
Hey everyone =) Sometimes, friends of mine who don't draw come up with ideas for characters and ask me to draw those characters for them. This is one such case =) Ican't say I'm a big fan of animal heads/faces on human bodies, but hey, to each their own, right? This character belongs to my friend Caleb, and is an African wild dog, a hunter =)

More practice
More practice animation! I'm still working to find the quickest way for me to complete animated scenes, and again, I'm using my raccoon character Remo because he's the one I'll be animating in my film starting September. You're going to see a lot of him =D

Recent practice
Recently I've been seeing what I can learn from the Jason Ryan animation tutorials. I really have to thank Jason for what he's done by putting these tutorials out there, even just the ramp-up tutorials are SUPER helpful! They're quickly filling in the gaps from my education in the animtion program and I can't express how grateful I am for that! Anyways, here's a practice animation I did to solidify the concepts discussed in the sneaking ramp-up tutoral. If you feel you could use some help with your animating, I STRONGLY recommend you check out Jason's website, it's truly invaluable =) Anyways, here's the result of practice #1! More to come sooon <3

Animation practice
Hey everyone! School is now over so I can return to my own personal studies and self improvement =) One of the big things I'm interested in is the animation tutorials by Jason Ryan. His animation astounds me and inspires me to move forward! One of his tutorials is for a slide and clap movement, so I figured I would give it a try on my own before downloading the tutorial. Here are the rough results. I'm pretty thrilled with the results given I've never really tried it before. Critique however, is VERY appreciated! So without further ado, I will now sidestep and clap for you. Huzzah!

Cauldron Zone
A painting for my 4th year film! This is really more concept art than anything else, I'm using it to develop a sense for what the environments will be like, what the feel of the foundry will be and what kind of colors and moods to have. FUN FUN FUN!
More to come later =D This is my first time painting from imagination =) Hope you like it!
Time to get back to animating the 3rd year film =)

Beginning animation for 3rd year film
Hey everyone =D Here's some roughed out animation for the group film project I'm working on at Sheridan right now. In this scene, Goatie and Sven have just woken up from a daydream to watch Sven's father collapse on the table from too much drinking. More to come later =)

Work in Progress
Now that I'm becoming comfortable with the beginning stages of a painting, particularly blocking in paintings with color to the point where they become visually legible, it's time to move in and start taking those hazy images and refining them and seeing how far I can take them to the next step. Here is a work in progress, you can observe my method as I continue to post works in progress so you can see it from a fairly unfinished piece to something more finalized. The choice of the industrial image is pretty important as my senior film will be taking place in a steel mill, so expect to see many more industrial paintings as I familiarize myself with the environments appropriate for my film. Hope you enjoy! =D

Speedpainting
These two paintings were based off two National Geographic Photo of the Day images. The characters in the second are based off two of my favorite childhood cartoon characters, raichu and gazimon. Sometimes it's important to remember what got you started drawing in the first place =)

Effects animation: Fire
Today in DQ's class we were discussing fire and effective ways to animate it as well as details to be aware of, so to get some hands on with his concepts I made this little doodle =)

Intro!
Hey everybody! As a developing artist at Sheridan college, I felt it important to make myself a blog and see how I could get involved with other animators. I'll be posting thoughts and work and following my fellow animators and inspiring artists. Come back soon for some updates =D
